From the 31st of May to the 3rd of June, the team tour went to Covilhã and Fundão.
All destinations are special, but some touch our team members differently. This was the case for Nuno Martins, Team Business Manager, as soon as he arrived in Covilhã.
t. team.it has a great culture of decentralization, and that was one of the reasons for creating the team tour and our mobile office.
How does this initiative bring us closer to our colleagues located outside Lisbon?
n. Due to a culture that promotes and values remote-first and the decentralization of the market, we realized that a large part of our employees work and live outside Lisbon, which makes it difficult to have a possible face-to-face interaction with those colleagues.
The team tour arises as a response to this challenge with a role reversion: the employees don’t come to see us at the office, but we move to see them. We work, socialize, laugh, and walk together for a week, which allows us to strengthen not only work ties but also interpersonal ties. I feel like we all got to know each other a little better!
t. Every month we choose a different destination, and the second trip took us to Covilhã. Tell us a little bit about your relationship with this city and what it was like to come back with team.it.
n. I moved to Covilhã at the age of 18, ready for a new adventure (and what an adventure it was!!! 😊). I lived in that city between 2011 and 2015, where I graduated in Sociology and did a postgraduate in Social Policies and Exclusions. During this period, I had experiences that I will never forget, and I met people who are still part of my life today. The team tour took me to travel back in time and made me remember all the good times that I once lived in those streets and alleys.
t. In addition to having studied in Covilhã, you are from Castelo Branco. Is the connection that team.it has established and is establishing with the interior of Portugal important to you?
n. Interestingly, the first two destinations of this team tour were two cities with which I have a special connection: Castelo Branco and Covilhã. Answering in a very summarized way, I am proud to be part of an organization that values and works to praise the talents of the interior, especially those of Castelo Branco.
